"Aftershocks (of Political Glory)" is a sprawling, at times prog-inspired work that includes roaring lead and rhythm guitars, thoughtful lyrics, and a suite of extra instrumentation incorporating everything from string orchestrations and vocal harmonies to ambient sounds, clarinet, cello, and more. "Resurgence" follows another unlikely but pleasing arrangement which underscores the sentiment of the lyrics. Both compositions written, produced, and performed by James M. Masnov, with a guest appearance by Jay Pratt playing drums on "Resurgence." Both songs represent the vanguard of songwriting, combining extremes in the use of dynamics, power, and melody.
